The starting point for this walk is the car park at Bergset, the furthermost farm in the Krundalen valley. From the car park, you walk beside the river, then continue along a tractor path and then along a very good and clearly marked path along the level Bergsetdalen valley.
The vegetation is lush to begin with, but the closer you get to the glacier, the sparser the woods and plants become.
At Bergsetbreen, it is Baklibreen especially, on the northern side of the main valley, that attracts your attention. Since the whole Jostedalsbreen glacier is currently in a growth period, there is a particular risk of ice falls.
It takes about 1 hour to walk to the glacier.
